Linux issue with Images to Stack

Something that I noticed recently in opensuse+KDE (nvidia driver, all up to
date) is that when there are lots of images open and I try to make a stack, I
lose all the "title bars" from all images (in other programs too) as well as
the bottom bar on screen.

This does not happen if I use the batch mode to create the stack, or when
using any other application. So strange! Only when I try to create the stack.
Few images (10 or so) seems OK.

Is anybody else experiencing this?
