First of all, you will never have to throw away Fiji installations. You
can unpack a new Fiji into a new location. In the near future, we plan to
have a function that allows you to "repair" installations so that you can
fix whatever needs to be fixed in existing installations given a new,
working installation.

If you want to use Java 7, then yes, you will have to download Java 7 from
the Oracle web site.
