TrakEM2 Treelines- Connect to self?

I am trying to model a vascular network with extensive anastomoses using the Treeline object. Is it possible to  have branches connect to other branches in the same tree (essentially forming a ring)? If this is not possible, I have been marking the anastomoses using tags. Is there a way that I can do some post-processing to form the anastomosis rings?
