Creating a random number sampling frame

Esteemed members of the ImageJ list,

I am looking for a way to create a macro that will automatically create X
number of vertical transects of the same length within a frame size I
specify (if possible, If i can change the frame size it would be fantastic.

Basically, I want the transects to be placed within the frame without being
placed in a designated coordinate more than once.

I need all transects to stay on screen so i can generate separate plot
profiles for each and get the area under the plot graph generated for them.

I'm not familiar with javascripting and I have only started working with
ImageJ very recently, so any help is very much appreciated!
