How to calibrate ImageJ to read HU values?

I've got a stack of DICOM images of some phantoms with iodine in them. I'm getting values of around -1000 for the air (expected), 6-9 for the water phantom and 1500-3000 for the iodine phantoms. Does ImageJ automatically calibrate to HU for DICOM files? Is there a way I can check/do this?

(I'm a beginner with ImageJ)
