Additionally to Pavels word I want to add a few details here:
We imagine C.elegans. We do Dual Side Illumination, which is not really
needed with our samples, but sometime the right side looks much better
or vice versa. I personally see the other illumination side as a
"backup". We did not understand yet, why we sometimes get different
imageging quality.
We also tried to do the online fusion with the Zen Software. (2014
Black). It worked without a problem, but the benefit was hardly visible.
Sometimes the results looked better, sometimes slightly worse.
After a few test sessions, we decided to do dual illumination, but not
to use the online fusion feature of the Zen software, because our
samples don't really benefit from it.
