Question about shape analysis

Hi all

I have a shape analysis problem

As shown in the attached image, there are three atomic columns but each
have different shape, it is interesting to characterize the shape of the
atomic column in the middle, which is like a comet, however it is
complicated by the two adjacent more gaussian like atom columns

I tried to fit with elliptical functions but the results are not good at
this moment

I just wonder if anyone have some good advices or similar experiences
