You could try disabling “Use file chooser to import sequences” in Edit>Options>Input/Output. On Windows, File>Import>Image Sequence uses the JFileChooser when this option is disabled. It uses the native file chooser when it is enabled unless “Use JFileChooser to open/save” is also enabled. Or, avoid using a file chooser by dragging and dropping the folder of images onto the “ImageJ” window.
