My apologies, the problem is really one of opening an iphone .jpeg in ImageJ. The original file size of the iphone photo is listed as a 3.2 MB .jpeg photo (as seen in my mac finder window as well as mac preview application), but when I open it in ImageJ the file size goes up to something like 30 MB. Again, is this normal behaviour?

For example, if the original image is only 3.2 MB in size, after cropping, it can jump to 13 MB. What is the cause of this behaviour? Is this a bug?
