Considerations for image binarization

Hi all,

as suggested by Curtis some weeks ago, I actually took a little time and
put some considerations regarding intensity thresholding and image
binarization together.

This is definitely not complete yet, I will also still extend it in future
but neverthelessI would like to invite those of you how are deeper into
this topic, to give further suggestions about proper description of
acceptable methods to give users some kind of guideline, since this topic
pops up in the list once in a while and in my eyes is somehow critical
since the binarization often is an entry point into further analyses.

Looking forward to some feedback and suggestions.
