text file to HSV

Dear all,

I have generated text files wich contain vector field information :
x and y : location of the vector
u and v : x and y vector components

plus

orientation of the vector

and

magnitude of the vector

I would like to encode this file into HSV color space for representation
purposes.

This tolls have allready been used for example in OrientationJ or PIV .
I would appreciate any tutorial on this issue or some sample code to get
into it.
