trouble viewing private DICOM tags

List,
I am unable to view private DICOM tags with Image->Show Info.  I searched online and found that this should be possible by adding the private tag to the extended DICOM_Dictionary file that I downloaded from the ImageJ website.  I added the private tag (7005,100A) and appropriate VR (DS) according to the image vendor's DICOM conformance statement.  Now when I use Image->Show Info the tag name shows in the output but the value is blank (see tag 7005, 100A below).  I know that the tag is assigned a value because I can view the value using another DICOM viewer.  Any idea why the value is not displayed?  Many thanks!!
