Setting Threshold Value resets display range

Hi all,

How come when a user is setting the threshold of a 16 bit or 32bit image by hand, this modifies the min and max display range and makes it go back to the default, very often way too dark? This is not the case with 8-bit images...

It makes it rather difficult to visualize whether the threshold was done correctly if a custom display range cannot be set.
