Calibration bar preserving overlay

When inserting a density calibration bar using "Analyze - Tools - Calibration Bar" and using the Overlay option, the existing overlay content is deleted. Is there any way to avoid this behaviour?

In contrast, the spatial calibration bar in "Analyze - Tools - Scale Bar" does not delete the existing overlay content.
