ImageJ with HiDpi

I am running ImageJ on a Yoga 2 Pro with HiDPI display (3200 X 1800 pixels) with Linux (Lubuntu/Mint/Cinnnamon).
The program works, but the user interface is barely usable-- the icons and fonts in the menus are microscopic.  I tried to increase the font size from the Edit/Options/Fonts, but it failed.
I know I am not the only one with such a configuration-- is there a way to increase the size of the icons and fonts?
