Many thanks .. Tried the Help.Update etc. Finally found the problem... I had installed ImageJ Fiji in a "Protected" Program folder and have shifted it to the "General" folder. Everything is working ok now... phew!

First I would suggest running "Help > Update...".
Also it would be helpful to know if you have other update sites enabled or plugins manually installed. You can get this information easily from the "Useful information about your system" window in the "Help > Report a Bug"
command.

How did you install the plugin? I just downloaded a fresh copy of the .class file from
http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/plugins/ratio-plus.html and had no problems running it with both Java 6 and Java 8; so if you did something else it's worth trying to re-install.
