Enhance brightness and contrast on part of image

Hi,

I have very simple problem. I need to enhance brightness and contrast only on a part of image. I used selection tools to select the region of interest but the brightness/contrast tool works on the whole image. Any suggestion how to change B&C only on a part of image?
