Albert,
I see that the FFMPEG plugin is installed in my version of Fiji but I cannot figure out how to open the MP4 files. Neither File>Open or File>Import seem to lead to success.

In Fiji, via the update sites you can install a plugin that uses the FFMPEG library to read in e.g. your MP4 movies. Can also write such movies.
