Hi Avital

I run FIji on a mac (MacOS 10.12.1 , Sierra), currently using java
1.8.0_92 jdk, and all is well. The only issue is the slowdown problem
associated with refresh of the menu bar, but Wayne's workaround where
the menu bar does not refresh automatically when the delay has built up
makes this manageable.

I had to go to 1.8 because some plugins that I needed would no longer
run on 1.6 .
I would suggest you try 1.8 again. If you have trouble we can compare
configurations and see what differences exist between our computers.
