You getting this error because
https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/ now uses the HTTPS protocol, which the “Update Image” command in older versions of ImageJ cannot handle. You can work around this problem by upgrading using the plugin at
https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/plugins/updater/Or by downloading ImageJ for Linux at
https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/download.htmlOr by copying the ij.jar file from
http://wsr.imagej.net/jars/into your ImageJ folder.
