Thanks a lot for your answer, but are you using a "vanilla" version of ImageJ or rather Fiji?
Unless I really need to think about using glasses, I don't see any tab-delimiters within Edit>Options>Input/Ouput...
As for the "file extension setting for tables" I indeed validate your answer.

usually I save Result tables as text files that use tab-delimiters.
Under "I/O Options" you can set the file extension for tables.
"Tab-separated values" is also supported.
