Hi Michael,

I suspect you are not using the latest macOS distribution at

    https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/download.html

With this distribution, everything, including plugins, is inside the ImageJ.app bundle and ImageJ is able to find its plugins even when Path Randomization is enabled.

I can disable Path Randomization using these steps:

1. Download ij153-osx-java8.zip from https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/download.html into the Downloads folder.
2. Extract ImageJ.app from the ZIP file.
3. Copy ImageJ.app into the Applications folder.
4. Right click on ImageJ.app and click on “Open” in the dialog.
5. Path Randomization should now be disabled and you can run ImageJ by double clicking on ImageJ.app.
