text window distorted

Boris Pellegroms
Dear ImageJ users,

When running IJ on my Ubuntu computer I can not use any text windows or
input boxes. When opening a text window the text is displayed just fine,
but when I click inside the box or select text, it becomes heavily
distorted with lines, or the window becomes completely blank. It does
not matter which java or IJ version I use.
In Windows I don't have this problem, so it could also be an Ubuntu
problem, but IJ is the only application behaving like this. Anyone
experienced this, and knows a solution?

Hi,

I use ImageJ 1.43i with java 1.6.0_10 and Ubuntu 9.04, but I had this
problem also with previous versions of ImageJ.

I run kubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 + IJ +sun jdk and I do not remember having that
problem.
Have you checked for alternative drivers for your video card?
A xorg configuration problem?

I run IJ 1.43i on Ubuntu 9.04 64bit with the java from the Ubuntu
repository. I don't see what your are describing, but my nVidia graphic
card driver is causing some problem especially when compiz is running.

So if it's a driver like mine disableing compiz might be a solution
until you upgrade to 9.10.
