Dear ImageJ users,
When running IJ on my Ubuntu computer I can not use any text windows or input boxes. When opening a text window the text is displayed just fine, but when I click inside the box or select text, it becomes heavily distorted with lines, or the window becomes completely blank. It does not matter which java or IJ version I use. In Windows I don't have this problem, so it could also be an Ubuntu problem, but IJ is the only application behaving like this. Anyone experienced this, and knows a solution? Boris |

Hash: SHA1 Dear Boris, what are the versions of ubuntu and imagej you are using? The text window works fine for me with ImageJ 1.43b and Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) Volker Boris Pellegroms wrote: > Dear ImageJ users, > > When running IJ on my Ubuntu computer I can not use any text windows or > input boxes. Hi,
I use ImageJ 1.43i with java 1.6.0_10 and Ubuntu 9.04, but I had this problem also with previous versions of ImageJ. I run kubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 + IJ +sun jdk and I do not remember having that problem. Have you checked for alternative drivers for your video card? A xorg configuration problem? Cheers G. |
I run IJ 1.43i on Ubuntu 9.04 64bit with the java from the Ubuntu
repository. I don't see what your are describing, but my nVidia graphic card driver is causing some problem especially when compiz is running. So if it's a driver like mine disableing compiz might be a solution until you upgrade to 9.10. -- Gabriel Lapointe, MSc. Laboratoire de Luc DesGroseillers, PhD.
