threshold on an area of a picture

Lena-Christin Conradi
Hello!

For the following question I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestion:

I need to measure the threshold of a staining in a certain area of some pictures and NOT from the whole picture. Is there anybody who would know how this can be done?

Many thanks in advance,
Lena

Re: threshold on an area of a picture

Cammer, Michael

An alternative procedure for measuring areas:
Analyze → Set Measurements, check 'Limit to Threshold'.  After converting to a binary image,
select Analyze → Measure
This procedure is simpler but does not draw an outline of the measured area.

threshold on an area of a picture

Hi Lena,

I'm late into this conversation but I would draw a Region of Interest (ROI) using one of the tools on the tool bar and store it in the ROI Manager (Analyze - Tools - ROI Manager). Then set your measurements (Analyze - Set Measurements) and any threshold you need to define the objects of interest (Image - Adjust threshold) as Michael has mentioned. Then click Measure from the ROI Manager.

Is that what you are looking for?

Kind regards,

Jacqui
