Dear Sir,
I've just dowloaded FIJI in my Mac - all went well after downloading Java-6. After that, I downloaded the ScientiFig pluggin. Then followed the instructions up to step 9. [close FIJI], but was unable to restart FIJI. I did restart the Mac [twice], but that had no effect. After that things went a bit weird because I started getting messages about enabling Java-8, which isn't there. Could I restart FIJI on the Terminal? If so waht are the instructions? Help would be much appreciated as I'm really looking forward to ScientiFig after seeing other people's figures displayed with that. Hi Maria,
Is there some particular reason you are trying to use Fiji with Java 6? I tested with the current version of Fiji (which uses Java 8) on my Mac, and ScientiFig appears to work fine. Visit this page: https://imagej.net/Fiji/Downloads Click the macOS link: https://downloads.imagej.net/fiji/latest/fiji-macosx.zip Unpack the ZIP file, drag the Fiji application into /Applications, then start it. After Fiji starts, proceed to Help > Update... > Manage Update Sites and enable the ScientiFig update site. Then quit and restart Fiji, and there should be a new Plugins > ScientiFig menu. Hi Curtis,
Many thanks for your very helpful email. I deleted all the software and downloaded again via your links. Then, as ScientiFig did not appear in the Plugins, I added it via Help>Updates... It worked a treat. Best regards, Maria On Sat, 29 Dec 2018 at 19:57, Curtis Rueden < [hidden email]> wrote: > Hi Maria, > > Is there some particular reason you are trying to use Fiji with Java 6?
