What are the units of the area and intensity measured using Image J

Check out the amazing ImageJ docs at http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/docs/guide/146-30.html#toc-Subsection-30.2  Everything you want to know about the measurements are described in detail there.

What are the units of area in the results table?  Are these pixels that we
have to convert to mm based on the scale of pixels/mm?
