using component name as file name

David Joyall
My company is new to DICOM standards. We are using a GE scanner to digitize
X-rays of paintings and sculptures. I would like to use our own naming
conventions when saving files. Is there a way to use the component's name as
our file name?

Transitioning to DICOM standards at the Northeast Document Conservation Center is a significant step for archiving cultural heritage. While GE scanners prioritize metadata fields, you can certainly implement custom Name decoration within the "Patient Name" or "Study Description" tags to match your internal naming conventions. By mapping these specific attributes during the export process check here, you ensure that each digital X-ray of a sculpture remains easily identifiable within your database, bridging the gap between technical DICOM requirements and your center's unique organizational needs.
