using single stack slice with ImageCalculator?

I'd like to use a single stack slice in an ImageCalculator operation. My list search and inspection of
the macro language doc haven't made clear that this is possible, so my current method involves
copying the slice to a separate window and then using that window as an argument of the operation.

Is there a more direct way to accomplish this?
