16-bit image contrast

Kurt De Vos-2
Dear,

Looking at some 16-bit images i noticed that ImageJ only
shows a partial range of gray values in the contrast adjuster
and histogram function (e.g 495 to 5512)  and contrast adjuster
does not allow me to go beyond those values with the sliders (e.g
to 0).
I can get the 0-65534 range back by setting the max and min display
values,
but every time i adjust the contrast i drop back in the
(automatically computed?) partial range.
Is there a way to prevent this automatic changing of the display
range and to keep
it at full range while changing contrast?

Kurt

Hi,
Image->Adjust->Brightness/Contrast->Set, and you can set it to the
value you need. It will also ask you whether you wish to apply this set
value to other opened images.
