16 bt grayscale image: display, histogram

Guenter Giese
Hi all,

when opening 16 bt grayscale images (recorded from a 14 bit camera with QED
ini vivo software, saved as BW images), the gray scale is expanded
automatically, althoughrt intensity data seem to be correct. Photoshop
displays the image correctly (display range 0-65535, image appears rather
dark).

Within ImageJ, with Image>Adjust Brightness/Contrast I can set the adequate
display range manually. But how can I set this behaviour as default?

An example: 16 bit image grayscale image, peak intensity around 12000 (as
checked with Analyze>Histogram).

Thanks,

Guenter
