Advice request: Recognizing and measuring diseased leaf areas

Jonathan Rosenthal
I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions as to how I can use ImageJ on
scanned, color images of leaves to detect several different plant
diseases and to measure the areas affected (they turned yellow or
brown or grew small bumps on the surface).
     Thanks very much,

Can you put an image somewhere?
From what you say it concerns Color-based image segmentation, so I
would try to use Color Deconvolution:

http://www.dentistry.bham.ac.uk/landinig/software/cdeconv/cdeconv.html

It is an awesome plugin that can separate your image according to
certain color, initially meant to deal with immunostaining. It would
allow you to separate the image of te leave from the brown bumps, that
you could then process separately.
Your image should be relatively flat.

Cheers
