Hi everyone,
Today the ImageJ team is pleased to announce the initial publication of the
Fiji Cookbook, an analysis-oriented introduction and user guide to Fiji. It
is inspired by the defunct MBF "ImageJ for microscopy" manual which went
offline in November 2012, and it describes many of the same plugins from
that distribution.
You can read the Cookbook online at:
http://fiji.sc/CookbookThe Cookbook pages are part of the Fiji wiki, meaning that anyone is
welcome to contribute edits and additions (very similar to how Wikipedia
works).
The Cookbook itself goes hand and hand with the Cookbook update site,
available via the usual mechanism (Help > Update Fiji, Manage update sites).
We would like to thank:
* Katie Hildebrand, Amanda MacAllister, Ruizhi "Ray" Laio and Johannes
Schindelin for their hard work on this project
* Tony Collins for his efforts on WCIF/MBF ImageJ
* All authors of the plugins discussed in the Cookbook
* And Kevin Eliceiri and Pavel Tomancak for their leadership and
encouragement
Johannes and I will continue as maintainers of the Cookbook, but would
welcome any new contributors who have something to add.
And now, in keeping with ancient traditions, I will be on vacation for the
next two weeks, so may be slow responding to mails until my return.
Happy holidays and new year to you all!
Cheers,
Curtis
