Dear all,
When either opening or putting a Threshold window in focus the Brightness and/or Contrast settings that may have been previously modified get reset. Unfortunately it may sometimes be interesting (and sometimes even needed) to modify the Brightness and/or Contrast settings of a picture in order to better identify some of its features. Is this resetting of the Brightness and/or Contrast settings in the Threshold window a feature added in purpose or rather a bug? Hi Philippe,
adjusting a threshold without resetting B&C is also on my wishlist since quite a while, so I have had a look at it and it seems that it is not very easy to implement. The nicest way to do it would be using an overlay for the threshold instead of manipulating the LUT (these days it would be fast enough), but this would be a lot of work and I don't know whether it wouldn't break some old macros. An overlay would also have the advantage of full accuracy for 16-bit and float data. Hi Philippe,
Would it work to adjust B&C to increase constrast of interesting features then click on ‘Apply’ before thresholding, or adjusting threshold? the downside is that altering intensities may add unwanted features to the threshold. Hi there,
It would be an useful feature indeed. In the meantime I started to use the following workaround (i know it's static and lacks interactivity but it works for me good enough): I do the thresholding and then I use create selection, which I add to either RoiManager or to overlay. Then I can reset the LUT and play with the B&C in order to see how the threshold worked.
