Bin command

Knecht, David
I was looking for a way to reduce the resolution of a 1024x1024 image to be able to compare it to data collected at 512x512.  I presumed that binning rather than scaling would be the appropriate way to do this.  However, I was surprised to find that "sum" was not an option in the binning submenu.  I would have thought the default way to bin an image would be the same way a camera does it, where the pixels are summed together and you get a "brighter" image after binning.  Why is that not an option in ImageJ or is there some other way to do it?  Thanks- Dave

Re: Bin command

Couldn't you just average them and multiply the brightness by the number of
pixels averaged/binned?
