Color histogram matching (RGB images)

Hi all,

does anyone know if there is a plugin that performs histogram matching on
RGB color images or on RGB color stacks using a slice as a reference
histogram?

I mean a sort of “RGB” version of the plugin “histogram matching, histogram
specification” available from the web site of the book “Digital Image
Processing An Algorithmic Introduction using Java” chapter 5.3 which works
only 8-bit grayscale images.
