Distinguishing high density areas from low density

Hello,
Im working with images that give me a range of small dots of varying
internsity and density, but I want to be able to segment out areas of
higher density from areas of lower density. Im using Trainable Weka
Segmentation, but Im not quite sure how to set the settings to make the
program distinguish out high density areas. Anyone lnow if a way to do this?
