Greetings everyone,
I would find it useful to be able to drag and drop txt images to ImageJ and have them actually open as images by default, not text. I found the following "solution" of dropping it on the >> menu, but that only works about half the time, the other half it still opens it as a normal text file. https://forum.image.sc/t/text-images-and-imagej-drag-and-drop/532 Thanks for your input. -Conner -- Fraunhofer-Institut für Keramische Technologien und Systeme IKTS Conner Phillips Charakterisierungsverfahren | Characterization Technologies Maria-Reiche-Straße 2, 01109 Dresden, Germany <https://s.fhg.de/ikts-klotzsche>Telefon +49 351 88815-541 Fax +49 351 88815-509 [hidden email] <mailto:[hidden email]>www.ikts.fraunhofer.de <http://www.ikts.fraunhofer.de/> Folgen Sie uns | Follow us: Twitter<https://twitter.com/FraunhoferIKTS/> | Facebook<http://www.facebook.com/fraunhofer.ikts/> | Instagram<https://www.instagram.com/fraunhoferikts/> | YouTube<https://s.fhg.de/ikts-youtube> | XING<https://www.xing.com/companies/fraunhoferikts> | LinkedIn<https://www.linkedin.com/company/fraunhofer-ikts-dresden> | IKTS-Blog<https://www.ikts.fraunhofer.de/de/blog.html> -- ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html |
Hi, you could do this with a very simple ActionBar drag-and-drop action:
See here for some documentation: https://imagejdocu.tudor.lu/plugin/utilities/action_bar/start Jerome. Do the names of the text images end in “.txt”? Do you wait until you see “<<Open as Virtual Stack>>” before releasing the mouse button? -wayne -- ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html |

Hello Jerome and Wayne,
Jerome, I will look into your link. Thank you. Wayne, that change in the status bar depends on where in the icon the mouse is. It seems to be mostly restricted near the point of the low leg of the right arrow. Otherwise it reverts back to just <<Drag and Drop>>. Yea I can just wiggle the mouse around to find it, but I would definitely qualify it as a bug. I am running ImageJ1.53i9 with Java 1.8.0_172 64bit on Windows 10 if that information is useful. -- ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html |

With the latest daily build (1.53i14), the drop target around the >> menu is larger and the status bar message is now "<<Open as virtual stack or text image>>”. -wayne -- ImageJ mailing list: http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/list.html |
