EDS - Spectral data import

Richard Humphrey
Hi, I have spectral data from an Energy Dispersive spectrometer (EDS)
which is in an EMSA file format.  Is there any ImageJ plug-in that will
handle this type of file format and provide me with statistical data from
the spectral information? Y= Counts, X= Energy(keV).

Hi Richard,

If you want more information about the EMSA file format look at these website:
http://www.amc.anl.gov/ANLSoftwareLibrary/02-MMSLib/EELS/EMMFF/EMMFF.IBM/Emmff.Total
http://www.nist.gov/lispix/doc/image-file-formats/MAS-spectrl-std-v1-0.htm

The file is a text file and in most case you can open it with you data
plotter of choice, i.e. Excel. You just need to build the x-axis
(energy). The row in the file are the channel and you obtain the
energy by multiplying the row channel number by the eV/Channel given
in the file.

Regards,
Hendrix
