Feret's minimum diameter decimal place problem

Kurt Fisher
I note that in using ImageJ to measure spots, Feret's maximum diameter and other measurements respond to the decimal place setting, but ImageJ always reports Feret's minimum diameter (MinFeret) only as an integer.

Is this intended or is this a bug?

Re: Feret's minimum diameter decimal place problem

Hi Kurt,

sorry, I can't reproduce this problem (ImageJ 1.47h). I can get non-integer values of MinFeret for arbitrary shapes - but of course not for a rectangle or an oval drawn by the respective tool.

By the way, you may notice that ovals tend to have non-integer MaxFeret values and FeretAngle values different from 0 or 90 degrees. That's because ImageJ does not use the smooth oval shape but rather the information which pixels are inside and which outside the ROI.
