Fiji installation

Very basic question. When I download i and expand Fiji (http://fiji.sc/Fiji) get a directory with java, macros, plugins, etc. directories but without an application - no ImageJ.app or anything like it. I do not see how to run Fiji in this situation. Am I doing something wrong or just completely confused? Mac OSX 10.7.5.

Dave,

just for fun, I've just downloaded Fiji (Continuous release) for OSX from:
        <http://fiji.sc/Downloads>

Evidently it is an OSX-package that contains all parts of the "Fiji
ImageJ"-distribution. This package is double-clickable under OSX. If you
are interested in seeing the application(s) you will have to open the
OSX-package and to navigate to the folder jars.

Maybe you downloaded the version for all platforms? But even that has a
Fiji.app/ as top-level directory, which is a double-clickable app on
MacOSX.

Maybe http://fiji.sc/Install_Fiji_on_MacOSX (which is slightly out of
date, but essentially applies, still) can shed some light into your
problem.

Thanks Herbie and Johannes,

The continuous release version at http://fiji.sc/Downloads worked fine producing the Fiji icon that launched the Fiji version of ImageJ. The installer at http://fiji.sc/Install_Fiji_on_MacOSX plus anything I found beginning at http://fiji.sc/Install_Fiji_on_MacOSX resulted in the problem in my original post. I don't know why but Fiji is now up and running.

I am terribly sorry, but when I click that link, I see no installer, just
the suggestion to go to the main page and click on the Downloads link
which is essentially leading to the link that worked for you... So I am a
little bit confused now. Could you shed some light into my confusion?

It looks like you managed to download an archive of the source code from
GitHub somehow. Which is quite surprising because I cannot find any link
in the "Install Fiji on MacOSX" page pointing to the source code, let
alone to GitHub's download page...

Anyway, it looks to me, still, as if the wiki page basically describes
everything correctly (even if the screenshots of the wiki itself are
outdated; feel free to update them if you want to say thanks by
contributing to the Fiji/ImageJ wiki!) so I am less concerned now.

For some reason I didn't find the link to the installer on my own. I don't remember how I found the link to the source code. I may have done a web search using other terms and found it. By that point I had visited so many links I was a little dizzy.
