Finding the number of contiguous neighbors of particles

Hi, Does somebody know about any imagej plugin which one can use to find the number of contiguous neighbors of particles in 3D. Any help will be highly appreciated! Thanks

Hi,

I may refer you to either a MereoTopology approach from G. Landini et al
  http://www.dentistry.bham.ac.uk/landinig/software/spatial/rcc8d.html
or using 3DRoimanager and the distances between borders; 0 distance
between borders of objects indicate objects are touching :
