Firewire DCAM Plugin via jlibdc1394?

Joachim Wesner
Hi list,

IMHO there is still no good *free* Firewire/DCAM camera support for ImageJ.
(?) (Some require other frameworks lile "Morena" that are only *free* for
academic use IIRC)

By occasion I found a new library/wrapper around  libdc1394 (Linux) resp.
CMU 1394 DC (Windows)

http://jlibdc1394.sourceforge.net/

and are thinking to do an ImageJ plugin based on that. Is there anybody who
already has worked with jlibdc1394?

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards

Joachim,

Based on the quality of your previous posts, I suspect you are well ahead of
me on this, but let me make sure you are aware of the Micromanager project:
http://www.micro-manager.org/ which is all about providing a consistent open
source inteface to devices with analysis support through imageJ.

My understanding is that micromanager currently has a libdc 1394 support for
Linux but not Windows, but i may be confused.

You my want to sync any advances you work on with this project.

HTH,
Rob
