Pedro,

You need 8 bit images to apply your customized luts.

To make your own luts, you can use the lut editor which is integrated
in ImageJ menus (Image>Color>Edit LUT). Once you have your customized
lut, you can save it (File>save as>LUT) and apply it to new images.
