Gaussian fit with ImageJ

Juan Francisco-2
Hi all:
pls, does anyone how to fit a plot to a gaussian curve using ImageJ?
Afte do a plot of a ROI taken on a image, i go to Analyse--->Tools---->Curve Fitting..., but I can´t see the option to fit the data to a gaussian distribution.
  Thanks.

Re: Gaussian fit with ImageJ

Hi Juan Francisco,

the curve fitter was originally intended for grayscale calibration.
Using a Gaussian function makes no sense for this purpose.

If your image data are roughly a Gaussian (with zero background),
you may consider moment analysis to get the position and FWHM, see
the Moment Calculator plugin:

Hi
Fitting against a univariate gaussian is very simple. The
gaussian distribution is defined completely by its mean and
its standard deviation. All of them you estimate from the data.
Moreover, the lest-square estimator coincides with the maximum likelihood
estimators for both parameters.
Now, if you want to fit mulitvariate gaussian then it is considerably
more difficult
