Help with timer

María Victoria Pepe
Hi everyone

I´m working with stacks over time to track the behavior of bacteria. Using
the "label" tool, I added the "time" to each slice, but when I save the
video (.avi) the label is deleted. I also tried "time stamper", but in no
case I can keep the "time". How can I save the video without clearing the
timer?

Thank you

Hi María Victoria,

sorry, when saving a stack as AVI, all metadata are lost, including the
slice infos and calibration.
To keep that information, you have to save the stack as TIFF or ZIP.

You can also use Image>Stacks>Label to add labels to the images. If you
select "Use overlay" these will be non-destructive while the stack is
open in ImageJ, but they will become part of the image when saved as
AVI, and all image information covered by the label will be lost.
