I'm looking at a few travel assignments right now, and housing is probably the part I'm most unsure about. How do you usually find a place to stay for a 2–3 month contract? Do you arrange everything yourself, use temporary housing sites, or ask your agency for help? I'd love to know what has worked best for others.

I usually start looking as soon as I know the general area, but I don't book anything until the contract is confirmed.
