How to count only bubbles that are in focus

jmcginnity
Hi, I'm trying to get size distribution information from photos of bubbles in water. However I only want to measure those bubbles that are in focus. Can anyone assist with this. An image is attached.Photo of bubbles in water Thanks for any help, Justin

Hi Justin,
I would try a variance filter (increases intensity at sharp edges, in your
case the bubbles in focus). Then I would do simple intensity threshold.

Good luck,
