IM3, Nuance reader?

Kenneth Sloan
Can ImageJ, or FIJI, read "IM3" files generated by "Nuance"?  If so, how?

Re: IM3, Nuance reader? second try

Kenneth Sloan
This looks like the sort of thing that might be in BioFormats - but I don't see
it listed?

Any clues?

Hi Ken,

Well, you could write to the ome-users mailing list requesting support in
Bio-Formats. We would need one or more sample files though. You can upload
them using the site:

    http://qa.openmicroscopy.org.uk/qa/upload/

Just ZIP them first.

Thanks,
Curtis

Kenneth Sloan
According to the LOCI sight, they have samples, and have closed (someone else's) request as "fixed".

but, it's not recognized by FIJI.

Hey, wait…the request was made by "curtis".  Would you know anything about that?

If I had specs, I'd be happy to implement it myself.  But, I don't even have specs, and
don't have the energy to reverse-engineer it.

It's not critical - I have the data in another form (stacks of tiffs).

Planned .im3 support in Bio-Formats is documented on the OME issue
tracking system:

http://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/ticket/4119

As Curtis mentioned, if you are interested in having Bio-Formats support
.im3 files, it would be very helpful if you could upload one or more
example files to:

http://qa.openmicroscopy.org.uk/qa/upload/

to assist the OME team in testing.

Regards,
-Melissa

Re: IM3, Nuance reader? second try

Kenneth Sloan
Chicken…egg…chicken…

I'm considering a purchase.  The system uses .im3 files.  I'd like to be able to process them in ImageJ.  But, if I can't, and can't get the specs, then I may not make the purchase - which means that I won't have a bunch of file to upload.

Oh well…the search continues.
