Image J closes upon opening or saving files

Dean Staus
Image J automatically closes upon opening or saving files.  However,
images (many formats) can be dragged and dropped into the window and
will open just fine.  I have had this issue before and the suggestion
was made that I open files using the JFileChooser, this worked for a
while but no longer does.  I have reinstalled Image J and updated my
Java, nothing seems to work.  I am desperate for some help.  Thank you
in advance for any assistance regarding this issue.

Is that under windows? I wonder if ImageJ is really using the Java version
installed in the system or the one under the jre folder which might have some
bug?
I seem to remember a similar problem of the wrong version of java being used
and reported in the list, so you could have a look in the archives.
BTW, after reinstalling it, did you set the options to use the JFileChooser
again?
Did you update to the ij.jar file?

Cheers
