ImageJ-Based Book on Digital Image Processing - 2nd Edition

Burger Wilhelm
Dear ImageJ followers,

I am pleased to announce that the (long awaited) 2nd edition of our ImageJ-based book "Digital Image Processing - An Algorithmic Introduction Using Java" (2016) is finally available (see http://imagingbook.com/books/english-edition-hardcover/). Compared to the first (2008) edition, this edition is completely revised and about double in volume, containing new chapters on automatic thresholding, filters and edge detection for color images, edge-preserving smoothing, non-rigid image matching, and Fourier shape descriptors.

The complete source code (ImageJ plugins) for all book examples, the common (Java) library, extended documentation, and other support materials are available at the accompanying website:

       http://www.imagingbook.com

We wish to thank Wayne and all active ImageJ contributors for their continued support and hope that at least some may find our material helpful.
